Frisco Independent School District is located approximately 30 miles north of Dallas, TX and serves students throughout Denton and Collin Counties, including parts of Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney, and Plano. It’s one of the fastest-growing school districts in the nation, with an average of 2-6 campus opening annually and an increase in enrollment of about 3,000 students per year. Despite its growing numbers, though, Frisco ISD remains an outstanding and top-rated district much loved for its small-schools feel.
Meet the Schools of Frisco ISD
Frisco ISD serves almost 56,000 students across 68 campuses, including 9 high schools, 16 middle schools, 40 elementary schools, and 3 special schools. Its elementary schools serve an average of 700 students in grades K–5, middle schools serve 800 to 1,000 students grades 6–8, and high schools serve up to 2,100 students in grades 9–12.
Additionally, the district enjoys a 98% graduation rate, academic testing results over 90% in both Math and Reading, and an average SAT score of 1190. Over 90% of graduating seniors go on to pursue secondary or continuing education.
A Wealth of Academic Opportunities
In addition to its core classes, Frisco ISD offers a huge variety of specialized programs that include broadcast journalism, animal science, aerospace engineering, animation, pharmacology, sports marketing, video game design, and much more. Specialized programming includes advanced placement courses, dual-credit enrollment through a partnership with Collin College, gifted and talented programs, special education, ESL/bilingual, Head Start, and more.
Additionally, it is home to the Career and Technology Education Center, which offers over 30 programs to help high school students explore career possibilities, and the Student Opportunity Center, which offers special attention to struggling students.

Students enjoy access to band, cheerleading, choir, dance ,drill team, orchestra, art, theater, and more.
Varsity sports include cross-country, football, soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf, powerlifting, swimming, and more.
