If you love golf, here‟s one more reason why you will love living in Texas. The PGA of America is set to move to the city of Frisco in The Lone Star State from Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, most likely by the summer of 2022.

The golf organization, which counts around 29,000 PGA (Professional Golfers Association) professionals as members, made the announcement on December 4, 2018. According to the association‟s website, “The PGA of America is moving its headquarters from Palm Beach County, Florida to Frisco, Texas, the „2018 Best Place to Live in America,‟ where it will anchor a 600-acre, mixed-use development with an initial investment worth more than half a billion dollars.”

The new headquarters

The PGA of America‟s new headquarters will be located in a mixed-use complex to be constructed in collaboration with developer Omni Stillwater Woods and the City of Frisco.

The complex will include two championship golf courses, a short course, and practice areas, as well as a clubhouse, an OMNI resort with 500 rooms, and a hitech retail village. The development will also feature Class AA office space, a 127,000-square-foot conference center, open space, and miles of trails.

The upscale complex will rise at Rockhill Parkway and Legacy Drive, about a third of a mile from US380. Most of it will be situated within the 2,500 acres currently being master planned by Hunt Realty Investments. The complex will be open to the public, with the golf courses, practice areas, clubhouse, and other public facilities to be owned by the city.

The agreement calls for two PGA Championships, two KPMG Women‟s PGA Championships, and possibly a Ryder Cup to be held in the city.
